  Big Cull of Foreign Language Groups and Congregations

  i overheard mrs eyeslice listening to '2021 governing body update 3' yesterday.

  apparently, they have started ditching foreign language groups and congregations as these weren't exactly roping anyone in.

  of course there is a positive spin on all this - '4,000 plus elders freed up to serve in local language congregations' and of course there has been immensely positive feedback from various branches about the benefits of this.. i suspect though there will be an awful lot of elders who were serving as king pins in these congregations who are going to have their noses put out by going back to local language congregations where they will barely be used.

  Who ever thought anyone would travel 25 miles to attend meetings in Mongolian pidgeon? Are they selling off remote translating offices?

  Ozzie and Harriet approve. I see successful marriages despite all the help. did anyone else notice the box comment on one flesh mentioned elders are NOT part of the marriage, same as inlaws. Despite the theocracy being most important dealing with inlaws is part of the deal.

  Now for reality: my wife keeps the checkbook, ( I know one man who says that's wrong, if I had his spendthrift wife it would , )chooses how the home is run, and I defer to her judgement most times. I also know her weaknesses and will defend her against anyone.

  anyone following the derek chauvin trial?.

  if you are actually following it, not just listening to the media, you will likely realize that there is a huge gap between what is going on in court and what is being reported in the media.. if the trial was fair, i think he should be acquitted.

  there is plenty of reasonable doubt about the cause of death (his dealer doesn't want to testify because he could be guilty of 3rd degree murder for selling him a fatal amount of fentanyl) and even doubt over whether the officer even had his knee on the guys neck or did anything counter to what they were meant to do as per policy.. but is it fair?

  From all accounts he was a gentleman, given his birth and being manor born.

  Queen E may outlive Charles, he looks like hell, and maybe knows something of him so will not abdicate. He is close in age so we " grew up" together, though he had more privilege

  We will see if Meghan and Archy attend the funeral. That will be a controversy either way.

  Correlation to ww2 is not the same. At the peak Westeen Union was delivering 3000 telegrams a DAY. And the ones coming back had witnessed it first hand.

  A pimi (as far as I know) told my wife she dreads having to go back to driving way out to a territory, dressing up for meetings, traveling. So much easier to put on a blouse and necklace, sip a brandy.

  I'm sure lots of the no picture zoomees are not dressed "appropriately".

  We elderly have to be conscious of crowds, so may still have to stay home.

  Someone commented on letters being ineffective, that surely holds true for dtd too.

  Are You Concerned About Inflation?

  i saw a statistic the other day that something like 25% of all the debt that the us has incurred since 1776 was created in the last 12 months.

  that's because they have printed so much currency and instead of letting that stop them, they are going to continue printing more to go on a spending spree on crazy green-new-deal schemes and union handouts.. does anyone think that this can be anything other than inflationary?

  they are effectively stealing the wealth of everyone to then hand money out to people.

  Disillusioned

  Except we are seeing higher prices on goods. The online market is dominated by Amazon and perhaps Ebay. I know how much my home heat has gone up, largely by design for " carbon emissions". The same for rent, insurance, food; all things we need.

  The disruption of delivery adds in too. The food market is regularly low stocked or depleted.
